Collection: TAMAR

This collection is inspired by an old Armenian folk tale about the forbidden love of Princess Tamar and a commoner. Tamar lived in a castle on an island, and every night she would light a fire to help guide her lover as he would swim to the island, where they met in secret. One night, evil people lurking in the island put out the fire, which caused Tamar’s lover to lose his way. After a long struggle with the waves, he became exhausted and uttered “Akh Tamar!” before drowning to death. The Princess waited until sunrise, and when she lost all hope, she jumped into the blue depths out of despair. To this day, the island in Lake Van is called Akhtamar. 

 The Tamar Collection portrays the aesthetics of the ancient culture of Van. We strived to preserve the essence of the regional jewelry by incorporating multi-drop constructions with lots of movement, which give a royal feel and the reminiscence of an old civilization. Each piece in the Tamar Collection is a melange of rich textures and finishes. The combination of antique gold and burnt bronze creates the impression that these pieces were borrowed from a museum. The jewelry of the Tamar Collection sparks conversation and certainly won’t go unnoticed!
