Collection: IMPERIAL TREASURES
The tradition of decorating eggs is a very ancient tradition. Fossilized ostrich eggs with decorations have been found all over the globe. The egg was a symbol of the cosmos and of creation, and they also represented regeneration.
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the most important celebration in the Christian faith, and it’s no accident that there has been a long tradition of decorating eggs on this holiday. Just as Jesus rose from the dead, the egg symbolizes the hope of a new life for Christ’s followers.
The term Imperial Eggs refers to the 57 surviving decorated eggs made by Peter Carl Fabergé for the Russian monarchs.
Our own collection of miniature adorned eggs are great collectible items with museum quality craftsmanship. They are made using the Guilloché technique (mechanical engraving of an intricate repetitive pattern), colored enamel and Bohemian crystal stones.
